A Fibonacci-based entry zone between the 61.8% and 78.6% retracement levels where smart money often enters positions.
Deep Dive
Optimal Trade Entry (OTE) is a concept that identifies the highest-probability zone for entering trades during pullbacks. It's based on the Fibonacci retracement levels between 61.8% and 78.6% of a significant price swing. This zone statistically offers the best risk-to-reward for continuation trades.
The OTE zone aligns with natural market structure. Deep enough pullbacks (beyond 50%) shake out weak hands and trigger stops, providing liquidity for institutional entries. But not so deep that the original move is invalidated. This sweet spot between 61.8% and 78.6% balances optimal price with maintained structure.
To use OTE, identify a strong move (ideally with displacement), then draw Fibonacci from the swing low to swing high (for bullish) or swing high to swing low (for bearish). Wait for price to retrace into the OTE zone, then look for entry confirmations like order blocks, FVGs, or candlestick patterns within that zone.
Why It Matters
OTE provides high-probability entry points aligned with institutional order flow.
